About Laura
Laura Dia started sharing her music through covers on the social media platforms, Instagram and Youtube. In the summer of 2020 she began developing her skills as a producer. She has recorded, produced and released her own music, independently discovering her own sound.
Her music lies within the realms of contemporary R&B, Pop and soul but she also draws inspiration from indie rock, hip hop and her heritage, West Africa.
Hailing from Bristol - UK, the Nigerian-Irish singer had grown a love for music from a young age. She has developed a uniquely polarised voice; delicate and sweet but also powerful and soulful. She also stands out as a multi-instrumentalist, performing with both piano and guitar.
She began her debut with her single “What Now” the title of her 4-part “single series" on longing, love and loss. Songs that introduced her potential as an artist and show her ability in lyricism, various singing styles, and characteristic harmonies. Within her first year of releasing music she received support from BBC Radio 1, Bristol and Southampton as well as being a quarter-finalist for the Isle of Wight New Blood Competition.
Her latest release "Oh, Dia" - her debut visual EP - features 5 songs and 5 music videos that showcase her gained confidence and dedication to her artistry. It portrays growth in ideas around self -love, self-belief and healing.
