Creating a unique blend of sound, Bristol-based Laura Dia stands out as a versatile artist in the Alternative-R&B space. The singer, songwriter and producer blends the realms of contemporary R&B, Pop, Soul and her West African heritage. Since her 2021 debut she has independently written, recorded and produced her own music, as well as working with gifted collaborators, developing a sound that is both intimate and expansive..
Following her debut EP Oh, Dia, she earned support from Team Love Productions and Bristol Beacon and performed at major UK festivals including Glastonbury, Boomtown, Love Saves the Day and Forwards Festival, while developing her sound under the guidance of mentors such as Sam Interface and Javeon. Her growth continued through Saffron Records — the Bristol CIC endorsed by FKA Twigs, that champions women and non-binary producers — where she received mentorship from Grove, Ikonika and Pops Roberts.
Laura Dia’s music has been featured on Spotify’s Fresh Finds UK & Ireland and supported by BBC Introducing in the West and BBC Radio 1. Her live sets are known for their emotional depth and dynamic contrast — blending delicate, ethereal moments with powerful, soulful delivery — creating a genre-fluid performance that is both captivating and deeply expressive.
She describes her music to be "ethereal and soulful - sometimes fierce, sometimes vulnerable".
